Development Engineers – Detectors

Summary:   Our client develops, delivers and supports solutions for nuclear plants, laboratories and homeland security programs throughout the world.  With manufacturing and engineering centers in five countries, extensive product support and application engineering on three continents and service facilities around the globe, we deliver cost effective and localized safety and security measurement solutions for our customers' nuclear requirements.

Responsibilities:
Develop new cryogenically cooled gamma detector products and systems.
Analyze problems, provide solutions and implement product improvements.
Recommend components, evaluate and verify specifications.
Write product documentation including spec sheets, manuals and test procedures.
Assist with product specifications, cost estimates and schedules.
Specify and evaluate component vendors.
Provide direction and guidance to drafting and prototyping.

 

 

Requirements:
B.S. degree in Engineering or similar discipline.  5+ years relevant work experience may substitute for formal education. Mechanical background preferred.
Mechanical, Cryogenic, and Vacuum Design experience
Metal finishing, welding, vacuum enclosure design, low noise electronics experience
Thermal Design and sheet metal fabrication experience
Ability to adhere to schedule, cost estimates and track project details.
Good written and oral communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
2 -4 years related work experience, in new product development and support
Knowledge of company products and intended applications
Ability to provide insight into mechanical and package designs.
 2-3 years prior experience in nuclear measurements or related instrument field.
