Diagnostic Engineer

Diagnostic Engineer Description: Exciting new position available with a Fortune 100 global engineering company! Must be able to communicate effectively, take initiative to understand existing diagnostics systems and seek out new opportunities to improve or add new diagnostics. Primary duties to include development, implementation, and validation of diagnostics for off-road and stationary engines. Responsibilities will also include specifying functionality and configuration of diagnostic algorithms in embedded engine control systems and tracking, prioritizing and resolving issues found in the lab and field tests.

Position will be part of the Large Engine Core Group. Will support large Diesel and Gas engines (mostly Diesel - Marine, EPG and Industrial engines). Will mainly be working with 750HP + Engines.

Mechanical background is strongly desired. Must be able to troubleshoot problems. Successful candidates will have experience developing diagnostics strategies and experience with Embedded software. The individual will not be writing the algorithms but will need to be able to read and understand them.




Requirements:
BS Degree, Preferably and ME or EE. (Will consider MET or EET). 2 years of experience is desired. Understand tolerance stackup analysis and basic statistics. Understand capabilities and limitations of embedded software and electronics. Experience in field troubleshooting of electrical problems. Must possess a good understanding of engines and fuel systems and have experience troubleshooting engine problems. Must have basic project management and organizational skills. Must be proficient with MS Office applications. Must be able to facilitate meetings. 6 sigma experience is a plus. OBD II (On-board Diagnostics) understanding is a plus. High initiative and accountability is a must.
