Digital SoC Designer - Wireless Division11358 Description:Digital design engineer working on complex system on a chip mixed signal solutions for consumer wireless communications equipment. Designer would be encouraged to participate in all phases of chip development, including architecture, RTL design, verification, and physical implementation. Additional activities include detailed documentation, test vector generation and development, lab test and evaluation, and other activities as required for the achievement of high volume production.   Responsibilities:Translate requirements into detailed design specification and architecture. Work with systems/software teams to understand architecture trade-offs, i.e., hardware/software partition. Detailed design using Verilog coding and performing chip level verification. Synthesis, physical implementation, and static timing. Education Requirements:MS in Electrical Engineering Minimum Requirements:Minimum of 0 to 5 years design experience digital and/or mixed signal IC design. Good knowledge of digital IC circuit design in an HDL synthesis environment. Willingness to work in all facets of chip design. Good knowledge of digital circuit verification and testing techniques. Good communication skills, positive attitude, and a team player. Additional skills (one or more of these are highly desirable):Low power design and implementation techniques. Understanding of embedded processor design, including bus protocols such as AHB or AXI. Verification of embedded processor systems utilizing software executing on the microprocessor and/or DSP. Experience with hierarchical place and route using timing driven layout tools such as Astro. Experience with design at fine line geometries such as 130 nm, 90nm and 65 nm. Knowledge of wireless standards such as GSM/GPRS/EDGE. Knowledge of audio/video compression techniques.
