Direct Hire Plant Engineer in the Thin Film Plastics Industry!!

Our client, a leader in the plastics industry, currently seeks a highly skilled Plant Engineer for a direct hire position in their Sioux Falls, SD facility.

Primary Function: Provide the technical, engineering, process and maintenance service required for plant operations. Develop and maintain facilities and equipment that meet production objectives

Essential Functions:

1. Direct and coordinate engineering, maintenance, building and equipment design facilities
2. Planning and material handling activities
3. Advise the Plant Manager of actions required to meet the objectives assigned to plant engineering, maintenance and extend the useful lives of facilities and equipment
4. Schedule and budget plant capital projects and activities
5. Develop, design, specify and justify new equipment
6. Develop and design preventive maintenance programs
7. Inspect and maintain facilities in a manner that facilitates safe working conditions that meets or exceeds established standards
8. Support and follow all Company safety policies
9. Manage and direct outside contractors
10. Responsible for maintenance and variable spending budgets
11. Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of all plant operating and support systems
12. Supervise 4 subordinate supervisors, 2 non-supervisors and up to 17 indirect reports
13. Assume other duties as deemed necessary.

Additional Requirements:
1. Knowledge of and skill in extrusion of blown film, LD/LLDPE, HDPE
2. Knowledge of and skill in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration
3. Knowledge of and skill in power distribution system
4. Knowledge of and skill in hydraulic and pneumatic systems
5. Knowledge of and skill in electrical wiring
6. Knowledge of and skill in instrumentation and automatic controls
7. Knowledge of and skill in motor and control circuits; AC DC, Servo
8. Knowledge of and skill in PLC programming, PPC and Cad
9. Ability to manage multiple projects
10. Ability to supervise, mentor, train and develop employees
11. Language skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management.
12. Mathematical skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
13. Reasoning skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram from and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) or closely related.

Work Experience:
5 years experience in plastics blown film industry
7 years working in industrial maintenance field
