Director, Facilities Management

The Director, Facilities Management is responsible for the daily 24 hour planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of the maintenance of all campus wide buildings and the infrastructure of the facilities.  This is to meet the needs of all its customers and support the infrastructure demands of this 2.7 million square foot Medical Center.  The Director assumes fiscal responsibility through the preparation of operating and capital budgets.  The Director guides staff in meeting customers? needs consistent with the Medical Center philosophy, mission, vision, and the tenets of the strategic and facility master plans.  The position reports to the Vice President, Clinical Support Services.

 

Requirements/Experience:



? College degree in Engineering strongly preferred or equivalent skills and experience.  Experience with similar tasks and responsibilities in a hospital setting preferred.

? Minimum of 5 years hospital management experience desired either as a director/manager at a community hospital or assistant director/manager at a large medical center.

? Working knowledge of building systems operations, maintenance and construction required.

? Progressively responsible experience demonstrating the ability to supervise, set priorities, handle multiple projects or assignments all within expected timeframes.

? Fiscal management skills to prepare/monitor/control budgets as well as ways to for expense reduction and revenue enhancement.

? Outstanding oral and written communication skills to facilitate presentations to staff and executives of the Medical Center.

? Ability to promote effective collaboration and teamwork among individuals of multiple disciplines and across organizational boundaries.

? Knowledge of regulatory, legal, and policy issues as they relate to building safety and performance.  A thorough knowledge of JCAHO/OSHPD/DHS standards.

? Knowledge of the principles of performance improvement and the ability to apply to apply such to improve work efficiency.
