Skills and Experience required for this position:

?  12+ years experience in architecture, design, analysis, simulation, implementation and debug of Cellular/PCS and/or WLAN base-stations. 

?  Strong Digital board, microprocessors, FPGA, and interconnect background is required.  Familiarity with RF/Analog, DSP and COTS compact PCI is a plus. 

?  Digital/SW/Mechanical and/or Regulatory understanding is beneficial.

?  Basic communications systems background needed.

?  Solid understanding of power distribution, management, conditioning and batteries is desired.

?  Working knowledge of basic hardware (digital, analog, and RF) and software  architectures for wireless data communication systems is advantageous.

?  Must have excellent lab skills and will be prepared to participate in debug, system integration, and system test.

?  BSEE required. MSEE or PhD preferred, but not required.

?  Basestation product and manufacturing experience is a nice to have. 

?  Knowledge of design for test, manufacturability and deployment is helpful.

?  High volume and high reliability product experience preferred.

?  Experience with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, digital multi-meters, etc.

 

Job Responsibilities:

?  Responsible for the NextWave 802.16e digital hardware designs in the Basestation and Subscriber Station, including requirements, architecture, analysis, implementation, fabrication, simulation, verification and pre-production. 

?  Responsible for all line management functions within this group. 

?  Position requires this candidate to be organized, self-motivated, a solid team leader, and an efficient technical contributor. 

?  Responsible for creating and maintaining vendor and subcontractor relations.
