Director of Physical Design

We are currently searching for a Director of Physical Design whose primary responsibilities will be in the physical implementation of IC designs. The main aspects of the position would include hands-on technical work in the PD area including Place and Route, power analysis, signal integrity analysis, pad ring development, LVS/DRC, timing closure, etc. Experience with deep sub-micron technologies (130 nm and below) preferred. Must be able to successfully work independently, as well as, within a team.

Knowledge of physical synthesis tools is required, Cadence PD (RTL Compiler and First Encounter) flow experience preferred. Experience with SOC designs and design flows strongly preferred.

Additional relevant skills that would be helpful include synthesis and RTL coding, exposure to a full RTL to GDSII flow, packaging development and analysis, and Design For Test/Manufacture [DFT/DFM].

 

Specific requirements of expertise for Director of Physical Design:

? BSEE required, MSEE Preferred

? 8+ years experience required in physical design and implementation

? Top down and hierarchical approached

? Synthesis, logic and physical using various methods/tools.

? Floorplanning and I/O placment

? Place and route

? Cell/macro placement

? Power distribution of core, I/O, and special macros

? Global/detail route

? Formal verification

? STA and timing closure fixes

? LVS/DRC fixes
