Qualification Requirements:
-Minimum of BS in a Technical Field (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering highly preferred) with a Masters degree or higher preferred.

-Successful candidate will have 8-10 years of progressively responsible engineering management experience with product design and elastomer products. (MUST HAVE)

-Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels in the organization.

-Must have the ability to manage multiple projects at once.

-Effective management/leadership of staff is key element of this position.


General Responsibilities and Function:

Direct the technical activities for the division. Responsible for achieving divisional technology objectives as it applies to respective product segments, staffing requirements, department budget and testing activities required to support achievement of short and long term business strategic objectives and customer satisfaction.

This may vary depending on the size of the division. The Product Design Department Managers at a minimum would report to the incumbent. Other disciplines that may be included are CAD, Process development, Testing machine shop and rubber chemists.

Job Duties:

-Provide leadership to Division engineering groups to meet Division objectives such as meeting growth and customer satisfaction (APQP requirements) targets.

-Oversee continuous development of technology identifying and maintaining points of difference. Technology includes process, material and design.

-Ensure Division technical resources are adequately staffed and the resources are used efficiently. Use productivity metrics to track resource efficiency.
