Position Description
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Drilling Services- Field Supervisor will:
? Ensure that safe, quality, and effective work is being performed relating to drilling projects. Based on location, equipment and services will vary depending on the local market demands (coring, sonic, rotary drills, etc.).
? Work closely with site foremen and branch/zone managers to assist in day-to-day activities at various sites. Assist as needed with new site set up, equipment movement/deployment, and other operational logistics.
? Interface with clients and client representatives, as needed, to maintain communication channels, and share operational knowledge.
? Supervise drillers, and ensure that contract goals and commitments are met.
? Motivate and manage crew members.
? Document and distribute monthly safety inspections for each site. All MSHA and OSHA standards are to be incorporated into this inspection, as well as site specific procedures.
? Perform monthly Continuous Improvement meetings with the client, and provide appropriate, timely documentation.
? Audit condition of equipment for each site. Follow up regarding any damaged or substandard equipment conditions. Address equipment re-build schedules on a case-by-case basis.
? Assist in crew scheduling and resource allocation as necessary.
? Provide oversight for rent / lease agreements authorized through the Contracts Manager.
? Stay abreast of new developments or opportunities for upcoming projects.

? Co-ordinate new hire orientation, including verification of eligibility to work in the U.S.
? Manage shipping and receiving schedules.
? Ensure payroll records and daily drilling records are in order.

Position Requirements:

Qualifications/requirements
? Project and/or logistics site management expertise in drilling services, construction, mining, or related heavy industry is required.
? Previous experience working with diamond, sonic and/or rotary drilling equipment, or any combination of these is strongly preferred. Other heavy equipment expertise will be considered.
? Hands-on expertise with tools and heavy operating equipment, and the willingness to ?jump in? as necessary is required.
? The willingness and ability to work out-of-doors in all weather conditions is necessary.
? Must possess a valid driver?s license, and pass a drug screen. A Commercial Driver?s License (CDL) must be obtained, or in place for employment.
? Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both clients and team members are essential.
? The ability to personally handle and operate heavy tools and equipment is may be required on an occasional basis.
? Must be willing to travel up to 70%, within a specified geography.
