Instrument/Electrical Superintendent
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:  Responsible for managing Electrical Engineers and support staff.  Indirect
reports include Control Equipment Specialists, Technicians, Electricians, and Mechanics. Responsible for efficiently managing all non-capital electrical, instrumentation, and control work for the entire plantsite whether the work is done in-house or by contractors.  Responsible for providing engineering assistance on capital projects.  Responsible for developing the site energy budget and managing energy spending.  Responsible for developing plans for maintenance, upgrade, and replacement of electrical equipment, instrumentation, and controls.  Responsible for developing and managing the department budget.  Position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: A Bachelor of Science in engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred).  Experience managing an I/E department in a production plant is preferred.  Ten years of I/E experience in a plant environment is preferred.  Desired experience: Instrumentation, controls, power distribution (low, medium, and high voltage), DCS, PLC, VFD's, motors (fractional HP to greater than 2000 HP), Arc Flash potential calculations and PPE determination, experience negotiating with utilities. Computer skills with Excel, AutoCAD, scheduling programs, and accounting systems required.  Strong written and verbal communication skill required.  Must be able to get up to speed very quickly.  Must be an experienced individual that will not need much in the way of mentoring.  Must have a fast work pace and be able to prioritize many tasks.  The individual will need to show significant progress on high priority tasks and at least some progress on the lower priority tasks.
