ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR

DIRECT HIRE POSITION- HOUSTON , TX   Monitors the technical, economic and schedule activities of the discipline on all projects (including design and engineering functions). 

 

Directs and implements technical policies and procedures along with development of engineering standards.

 

Provides technical guidance to the project discipline by direct consultation, technical bulletins and "state of the art" meetings.

 

Set engineering work priorities for assigned projects.

 

Develop and check detailed calculations as assigned.

 

Develop and prepare project technical specifications and requisitions.

 

Institutes and contributes to project design reviews, as required to assure quality of engineering conformance with project definition and to comply with regulatory requirements. 

 

Supervise, review and approve work done by assigned engineers.

 

Review and approve project drawings.

 

Maintain communication with project team, client, field, etc.

 

Assist assigned engineers and designers in the resolution of technical engineering/design problems.

 

Attend staff, client and vendor meetings.

 

Recommends plans for professional development personnel, including participation in technical society activities, as well as implementation of quality and training programs.

 

Engage in self study efforts to maintain and expand technical proficiency.

 

Participates in the technical personnel administration, including salary adjustments, staff training, and staff augmentation in accordance to company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, PE by Exam Preferred,12 years minimum experience in electrical facilities & power engineering.  5 Years in a supervisory role, Working knowledge of 2D and 3D Cad systems, preferably PDS.  Working knowledge of related codes and standards. 

 

Heavy Industrial plant (Oil & Gas, Chemical / Petro Chemical)  and coordination of engineers/designers on assigned projects.
