ELECTRICAL/INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER

Produce designs of field and panel instrumentation of fiscal metering systems. Produce electrical designs for mechanical systems and products to customer specifications, complying with national and international standards and good engineering practices. Ensure designs meet the requirements for relevant hazardous area zones.

Review and analysis of client specifications and requirements



  Preparation of purchase specifications.



` Design work including design calculations.



 Liaison with customers through the project manager for scope definition and clarification. Ensure designs comply with hazardous area regulations
Read and evaluate customer specifications.




Perform design and detail engineering for the defined scope.




Prepare purchase specifications for all electrical items of equipment ensuring compliance with project specifications and national and international standards while considering that all equipment used conforms to Hazard Area Regulations (CENELEC)




Selection and sizing of flow elements, final control elements and other instruments




Provide Designers / Draftsmen with sufficient technical data to produce drawings and bills of materials and approve same for issue.




Approve release of item masters & BOM structures.




Engineer and design system for electrical components considering items such as:


Equipment layout / Ease of manufacture / Maintenance access / Envelope size / Installation and operation of components.




Complete design calculations, incorporating inductive to resistance ratio, heating, and lighting and trace heating conformity.




Ensure cable sizes comply with regulations.




Prepare electrical installation, earthing and cable test procedures.




Prepare all engineering procedures applicable to project such as:




Assembly / Installation / Testing (FAT / SIT / SRT) / Commissioning.





Education / Experience




BS Degree qualified in Electrical / Electronic / Instrumentation Engineering




Two years experience in the design of custody transfer metering system / Analyzer Systems / Instrumentation Systems for Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry.




Conversant with ASME / ANSI, API, ISO, AGA, GPA and other international codes and standards applicable f or Custody transfer flow measurement systems.
Familiar with computer aided engineering tools.
