ENGINEER, MCVD PROCESS, GROWING FIBER OPTIC COMPANY

Nufern is looking for an energetic, highly motivated engineer to work in our fiber manufacturing plant in the Modified Chemical Vapor Deposition area (MCVD).  This is a new opportunity due to growth and expansion.

 

As MCVD Engineer for Nufern you will support manufacturing of a variety of Nufern?s standard products; use optical modeling and chemical calculations to design and develop new types of optical fibers; oversee performs and optical fibers as they move through fabrication; improve upon existing manufacturing processes, implement quality control operations, and help reduce manufacturing costs; other responsibilities as required.

 

You should have 0-5 years of experience, preferably in fiber optics, chemical vapor deposition (CVD) or other high tech manufacturing.  You should be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; have experience with advanced Access functions is desirable; and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

A high level of organization and ability to multitask on many projects is required.  You should be detail-oriented and also have the ability to focus on overall project goals.  Team orientation a must.

 

B.S. required in chemical engineering, material science, ceramic engineering, chemistry or other related discipline.  M.S. or Ph.D. desirable but not necessary.
