EWP Technicians

Responsible for providing technical services for a multi-location Engineered Wood Product wholesaler. Provides take-off and beam and joist sizing selection using both manual and computer software methods to produce accurate and timely quotations on wood frame construction projects.  Works closely with our sales staff and our Dealer network to serve the needs of the contractor and building designer.  Will be responsible for the preparation of layout drawings and preparation of cutting lists and shipping documents.  Occasional travel may be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  2-yr. technical degree in wood technology or architectural engineering technology and 0-2 years experience in wood frame structural design.  Will train if candidate possesses degree but limited experience.  If no degree, must possess equivalent experience wood frame structural design and in use of beam and joist sizing.  Strong visualization and communication skills.  Prefer layout or Architectural CADD software experience.  Ability to travel occasionally.
