Electrical/ Automation/Robotics Engineer

Responsibilities: This person will have a significant hands-on role in developing small and large scale automation and machine design for high throughput analytical systems. The candidate is expected to take a significant role in the design, development, and documentation of production systems. He or she will be part of a design team responsible for the design, analysis, fabrication, installation, support, and enhancement of mechanical and opto-mechanical systems used in production and research. Major duties include: Mechanical design, opto-mechanical design, mechanism design, which includes all aspects of the design process from concept to finished systems, system analysis, and fabrication of mechanical devices, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and documentation of mechanical, optical, and robotic systems under computer control. The candidate is also expected to provide technical support for other engineers in mechanical and automation design.


Requirements: The successful candidate must have at least a B.S. degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field with at least 5 years experience. The candidate must have a proven track record of developing robotics and automation solutions in a laboratory to production environment. Experience in working with electrical systems, precision mechanisms, optical assemblies, robotics platforms, and automation systems is a must. Key competencies required of this position include strong communication skills, willingness to work with the client base, results orientation, customer focus, teamwork, and problem solving skills.
