A power quality education and consulting firm is seeking a degreed Electrical Engineer to provide part-time/per assignment Consulting/Educational training.  Position to be based in Atlanta, GA.  Requires experience in: Grounding, National Electrical Code, Low Voltage Industrial Power Distribution, Surge Protection and other power quality related anomalies.  Public speaking/training, writing and proficient communication essential.  Spanish language could be helpful, but not necessary.  If you are interested in an exciting supplement to a career, enjoy travel, both international and domestic, then come join our winning team.

General Summary:
Conduct, in person and via the telephone, the business of promoting the companies related to Transtector Systems, Inc and its subsidiaries which will result in the successful demonstration of Engineering courses, consulting, and the development of sales leads and support to be generated for Transtector and RO Associates (or other designated) division.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
? Electrical Engineering, Physics or Engineering degree with experience and knowledge of AC power distributions.
? Working knowledge of the National Electric Code
? Demonstrated proficiency in public speaking, grammar, diction and presentation skills in languages of presentation. 
? Ability to analyze complex power, grounding and electrical environmental problems with all designated tools and equipment.
? Limited knowledge of sales practices, telephone communication, rapport building, teamwork and follow through.
? Computer fluency and appropriate detail orientation to develop site reports from consultation, make recommendations, course development where appropriate, and all required communications as needed.
? Ability to travel extensively both domestically and internationally to locations designated by management while simultaneously transporting test equipment, laptop, up to three slide trays, and personal effects.  Included in this will be the ability to obtain appropriate and valid passports, visas, and trip finances prior to reimbursement.
? Ability to communicate with customers, potential customers, co-workers, management and business contacts in a courteous, professional and respectful manner often on technical, controversial topics.
? Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining the responsibility to indicate areas of need to management.
Details:
? Travel average 30%, maximum 50%--contract basis only as needed in the region
? Compensation: Payment for each consulting and coursework presentation.  Additional bonus for high attendee ratings, travel days and on-site.
? Typical hours:  1-3 day courses or consulting assignments as little as once per month as often as 4 times per month.
? Expert level position that requires ability to troubleshoot, provide guidance to engineers and quickly suggest solutions to complex issues.

 

Description and Essential Functions:
Presentation of successfully evaluated courses on Power Quality, Grounding, Transient Overvoltage, Energy, Lightning Protection and Harmonics and any newly developed courses for the purposes of the defined business for RO Associates.  Performing consulting and recommendations to resolve overall power quality, grounding, transient overvoltage, lightning and harmonic problems at client sites.  Detail findings, recommendations and consultative conclusions in report form.  Provide successfully evaluated lectures and on-site meetings and surveys in support of both RO Associates and Transtector sales personnel.  Act as applications engineer and as sales professional when requested. Domestic and international travel to perform the essential functions of your position. Assist, via phone or in person, in sales support for technical product information and application. Maintain agreed upon course presentation schedules.
