Electrical Designer/Drafter (FP09-ENG-06)

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Uses the theories of science, engineering and mathematics to solve technical problems. Assists in the design, development, test and validation of electrical designs or components. Electrical trouble-shooting experience in commercial, military or off-highway vehicles would be helpful.  Interfaces with engineering peers, other Force Protection Industries, Inc. departments and suppliers in all phases of design, test, manufacturing and after-market support. Provides detailed drafting support (2-D and 3-D) in the development of harness drawings, schematics and installation drawings.  Analyze problems and provide technically feasible concepts and materials for the most effective and economical solutions. Assist production personnel and customer service in providing technical support. Capable of independent and innovative work in a custom, fast-paced vehicle manufacturing environment. Construction and setup of vehicle test equipment/software. With guidance from an engineer, prepare and conduct experiments, collect data, calculate or record results. System and creative thinking required with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.



 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

An Associate degree in Engineering Technology or a minimum of  5 years technical experience in one or more of the following: vehicle harness design, installation drawings and schematic creation, automotive electronics or MIL-STD electronic systems. Some experience using SolidWorks or other CAD systems is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of FMVSS, SAE, MIL-STD and ANSI Z245.1 is desirable.



SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

Describe any specialized knowledge or skill (e.g., technical, scientific, administrative, managerial), which your position requires.

Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Project. CATIA E3-D or Pro-E harness routing experience. Experience with Mentor Graphics or Capital Harness Systems software.
