Electrical Engineer

Description: Electrical Engineer This position can be located in Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA.

In this position you will have the opportunity to lead the detailed design activities associated with the construction, operation, and maintenance of power generation facilities. Responsibilities will include:

Oversight and technical direction of other engineers, designers, and drafters. Design oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and standards, QA requirements, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Responsible for overseeing electrical power system design Responsibilities will also include development of single line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, layout and circuitry design. Must also be capable of assisting with checkout and start up when necessary.

Education & Work Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Extensive experience in plant electrical system design desired (preferably power plants). Requires experience providing technical direction in preparation of design details, drawings, and calculations. Requires experience scheduling and coordinating major projects to meet cost and schedule objectives. Experience using AutoCAD and CAD Overlay would be beneficial.

Behavioral Attributes: Excellent project management, organizational, time management and analytical skills required. Considerable interpersonal and client relation skills required. Must be able to lead multiple projects simultaneously. Must provide effective leadership in accordance with Southern Style- Unquestionable Trust, Superior Performance and Total Commitment.
