Electrical Engineer - Firmware
Elster Electricity is a world-class provider of advanced electricity metering products, communication solutions and metering automation systems. Elster Electricity has an opening available for a firmware
engineer. This is an entry level position. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, design, development, implementation, documentation and support. Required skills include Real-time embedded C and assembly language, including device drivers and interrupt handlers, RTOS experience (multi-threaded, multi-tasking), Object-oriented design concepts and familiarity with revision control system, such as Star Team or Perforce. The position requires a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline and 3 - 5 years experience in firmware design and development in C and Assembly. Responsible for firmware development in new metering products as well as technical specification, design, implementation, support and engineering verification of firmware. Experience with metering products is a plus.Candidate will be developing firmware for our solid-state electricity meters used in residential, commerical and industrial metering applications for an industry leader as part of a motivated and dynamic team. Candidate would interface directly with hardware engineers, lab technicians, manufacturing, marketing personnel, as well as fellow engineers working at our various interntional sites. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, ehtusiastic, self-motvated and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
