Electrical Engineer II (EIT) ? Aiken, SC
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Performs conventional and moderately-complex engineering assignments, proficiently applying electrical engineering techniques and analyses within a project-centered workgroup. The engineer at this level is able to apply company procedures and industry codes. Assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications such as ETAP and MicroStation. Some travel to inspect equipment at supplier or construction site locations is expected. May serve as a lead engineer on a small sized project or as a lead on a portion of a large project.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering products that meet project, corporate and customer quality requirements. This includes working with the Lead Electrical Engineer to define problems, establish work scopes, prepare task budgets and schedules, plan the work, provide technical direction, and report the work status to the Lead Electrical Engineer.
Typical products may include detailed power system calculations, specification writing and review, technical reports, single line and schematic diagrams, point-to-point and zonal cavity lighting calculations, underground ductbank and grounding system drawings, procurement documents, and technical bid analyses.
Provides support for other engineering discipline activities as required. May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input to the Lead Electrical Engineer regarding their performance.
Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers.
Working knowledge of industry codes. Understands and applies commonly used company design standards and methods. Assists in the establishment or revision of practical design tools and guidelines, as directed.
Collaborates with engineers and other electrical designers to ensure quality of design. Able to perform interdisciplinary reviews and provide coordination of data to ensure a complete and compatible design.
Reviews supplier data as required. Reads supplier/manufacturer and interdiscipline coordination drawings and 3D CAD files.
Checks orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others. Performs design checking as appropriate to the discipline and as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Assists in training lower-level Engineers in basic engineering and design. Can assist in training lower-level designers in various basic drawing presentation methods and procedures.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
4-year degree in Electrical Engineering
5-8 years of related work experience
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is required
Requirements include Bentley MicroStation 2-D and 3-D CAD skills, including reference techniques
Efficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office computer software to organize and complete design assignments.
Project safety responsibilities are key to performing job duties.
United States Citizenship required ? must be able to provide legal documentation (U.S. Passport or Birth Certificates).
Must be able to pass substance abuse testing.
Other: 6-month position to start with possibility of going direct.
