Raytheon?s Electronic Design Directorate (EDD) provides engineering design, integration and production to sonar, torpedo and combat system competencies (process and control, integration and test, power systems, torpedo and sonar electronics).

Ship and Torpedo Electronics Department at our Portsmouth, Rhode Island, San Diego California, and Sudbury Massachusetts facilities.
The Ship and Torpedo Electronics Department provides all electrical engineering for system, component and sub-component assemblies of IDS surface, subsurface ship electronics, and torpedoes. The emphasis of the organization is to partner with our internal and external customers to deliver quality electrical technical solutions to meet their cost and schedule goals. The core electrical engineering responsibilities encompass requirements analysis and definition, electrical design, EMI analysis/test, Radiation Effects and Firmware design. The team consists of a diversified group of individuals who are dedicated to continually achieve to higher quality standards in shorter development cycles through the uses of IPDS processes, Raytheon Six Sigma, and Earned Value Management System principles.
Electrical Engineer II
The newly hired Electrical Engineer researches, develops, designs and tests electrical components, equipment, systems and networks. Designs electrical (Analog, Power, RF, and Digital) equipment, components, products and systems for defense, commercial, industrial, and domestic and foreign purposes. Applications include, but are not limited to, radar, missile, ship systems electronics, torpedoes and communication systems. The tasks may include laboratory integration, test and evaluation, and fault isolation of prototype hardware. The engineer may also support system studies, analyses and simulations from concept through detailed design. Familiarity with simulation and CAD tools is a plus. New engineers will work with and will be mentored by senior personnel.
Basic Qualifications
- M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, or related engineering curriculum
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
Desired Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills
- Some project work or co-op/intern experience in design, analysis or simulation preferred. Customer focus and collaboration skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledge of MS Office or other presentation tools
