Electrical Engineer, Product Development (43475)

Description

The Electrical Engineer, Product Development (Mobile Computing Division) will be responsible for leading and contributing to all aspects of the electrical/system design and development of portable hand held computers and accessories for mission critical enterprise applications.

Specific position duties will include:

? Specify/document product requirements for Mobile Computing devices.
? Lead hardware team in system design and analysis for digital/analog systems.
? Lead design, simulation, and test of mobile device and overall system.
? Resolve and provide leadership to others in resolving system test issues, including EMI, ESD, radio performance, etc.
? Provide technical management of third party designers for handheld computer and accessory product development.

 Required Skills

? Demonstrated ability to develop products from concept through high-volume production.
? Proficiency in leading project development with third-party designers.
? Excellent written and oral communication skills.
? Ability to work independently with motivation and self-direction.

 Required Experience

? BSEE with 7-10 years applicable experience (MSEE preferred)
? Experience of 5+ yrs with integration of embedded processors, memory systems, wireless networks, display and audio systems into mobile devices.
? Experience in low-power, battery-powered device design.
? Experience in RF Radio module integration including WWAN (CDMA / GPRS).
? Experience in leadership role within cross-functional team.
? Knowledge of high-speed circuit design techniques
? Knowledge of data capture devices such as imagers (CCD /CMOS), laser scanners, magnetic swipe readers, radios, biometric devices, etc. a plus.
