We currently have a direct hire employment opportunity in Troy, MI. for an Electrical Estimator.

 

Required Skills/Experience



Minimum 3-4 years experience in automotive paint finishing system estimating or industrial construction estimating is required.



Requires the following practical skills:Ability to perform complete quantity and material take-offs from concept drawings and/or process flow schematics & diagrams and to create complete, accurate and detailed bills of materials.Ability to communicate with supervisors, colleagues, Japanese parent company engineers, subcontractors.Proficiency in MS Office applications, Excel is a must; Outlook, Word, and MS Project are also required.Understanding of electrical design fundamentals including:

Conduit and wire sizing, Termination requirements, Unit conversion.Understanding of estimating standards such as:

RS Means, Richardson.Understanding of applicable building codes and standards such as:

NEC, NFPA, BOCA, ICBO, SBBCBasic understanding of paint finishing process fundamentals including:

Paint booths, Ovens, Work areas, Air Supply Houses ("ASH"), Phosphate systems, Electro-coat systems, Pollution abatement systems.Familiarity with equipment used in industrial paint finishing systems including:

Motors for fans & pumps, Rectifiers, Control valves, Control dampers, Burner controls, Gas trains, Buss ducts, Substations, Transformers, Starters, Disconnects, Interlocks.Acceptance of the requirements imposed by our ISO 9001:2000 registration.Duties will be centered on estimating of large automotive paint shop projects including industrial building construction and paint finishing systems.Some travel will be required.Ability to take direction from supervisors, advice from more experienced colleagues, demands from customers, long working hours, tight time schedules and the satisfaction of seeing a project brought to life as a result of the efforts of you and the project team.
