Electrical Project Engineer-REVISED

CITY: Ft. Edward STATE: New York COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
* Responsible for leading and coordinating all technical aspects of power equipment projects. This includes directing efforts of engineers and designers, coordinating with sourcing and the project team on technical matters to meet project specifications, cost control and schedule objectives. The project engineer has the ultimate responsibility for the single line diagrams, studies, specifications, platform design, plan and elevation drawings, relaying protection and control requirements, and layouts for conduit and wiring, grounding, and control buildings. The responsibility also includes writing equipment specifications and issuance of material purchase request forms to sourcing, vendor quotation evaluations, interface with customers and project team members.
* Further responsibilities include leading the effort for development of proposals; including reviewing the technical specification, supporting sourcing for vendor quotations, directing design on drawing requirements, and development of technical responses, clarifications, and cost estimates for the proposed projects.
* Project engineer is responsible for start-up and commissioning which requires international travel.
* Responsible for executing cost reduction programs that vary in scope and may include low cost vendor selection, design improvements, process improvements, automation, and new product introduction.

Qualifications/Requirements:
* Engineering degree (BSEE preferred)
* Minimum 5 years industry related experience in transmission and distribution applications
* Knowledge of and experience with IEEE & IEC Standards
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Team player attitude, creative thinker, and boundaryless behavior

Desired:
* Professional Engineering Registration
* Prior FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) application or design experience
* Minimum 7 years experience in T&D substation / power delivery systems engineering and projects experience as Project Engineer in substation type applications, including substation automation, and Scada systems
* Excellent personal computer and web-based application skills with an automation background in VB strongly desired.
* Background in mechanical and civil engineering
