Electrical Project (Project Manager) Engineer, Electrical Engineer
Electrical Project (Project Manager) Engineer
Join a Privately held, International Custom Automation and Control Systems Firm in North East Ohio which is seeking an Electrical Project engineer from the Industrial Controls Arena. The career development plan for this position includes growth into upper management. This individual is needed to schedule and ultimately time manage engineering personnel, shop personnel and shop equipment, which is in essence, the "resource pool" of the company. This individual will be given a report of estimated "budgeted" amounts of time to accomplish each task for multiple projects. He/She will schedule on a Gant chart the engineering development (electrical design, mechanical design, software design) AND manufacturing (purchasing, sourcing and shop manufacturing / assembly of systems and machinery) AND the factory test (integration of software and system / machinery as final product) AND shipping AND Installation and Start-up at customer's plant. In essence, if this "resource pool" were an orchestra, we are looking for a new conductor and the GANT chart will be his sheet music and conductor's stick.
SchedulesGant charts are created and managed using Microsoft Project (experience preferred but not required). Scheduler must enter day to day details of what engineers and shop personnel are doing and what aspects of the projects are being worked on by those engineers and shop personnel.
This individual will then actively monitor all progress being made to determine if changes to the schedule are required due to tasks that fall behind or finish ahead of time. He/She will keep all employees productive to the best of his/her abilities. This individual will bring to management's attention, any complications that may result in a final product not making budget or deadline.
He/She should have a background in designing industrial controls and automated equipment using PLCs so that he/she will understand what aspects can be worked on in parallel, what ones must be completed in sequence, as well as have an understanding of what reasonable expectations he/she can have for deadlines as he/she manages the resource pool.
The perfect candidate would be an Electrical Engineer with design and project management experience that wants to grow beyond the technical aspect of designing automation systems and wants to get more into the business/management aspect of a firm. We want someone who can become excited about the challenge of reacting to unexpected turns of events, who doesn't mind if their "GRAND DESIGN" is suddenly flipped upside down by a single event. The candidate chosen will be capable of reacting quickly to unforeseen complications, while staying very organized and documented.
If you are an Electrical Engineer with 5-10 years experience designing PLC based automation systems working in environments such as a custom automation integration firm/controls firm, industrial equipment manufacturer, in-plant Electrical Engineer, you may be qualified for this position. A BSEE degree and experience DESIGNING PLC BASED AUTOMATION SYSTEMS is required.
The firm offers a full benefits package, over time pay for every hour over 8 worked in a day, and an annual bonus. If you desire to work in a positive environment where the staff is very proactive, accomplishes its goals as a team and performance is recognized by management then you should apply ASAP.
