Electrician
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: To install, maintain, and repair all plant electrical equipment
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:
Standard hand tools used in the craft, Power tools and equipment, hydraulic press, pipe cutting, threading, and bending equipment, band saw, taps and dies, lubrication equipment, tachometers, electronic test equipment, tape measure, micrometers, levels and dial indicators, cranes, lift trucks, powered lifts, ladders and scaffolding.
MATERIALS:
Electrical and electronic components including but not limited to solid state, power distribution, electronic control components and devices, composition materials, lubricants, solvents, acids, varnishes, and paints.
DIRECTION OF OTHERS:
Responsible for own work and occasionally helpers and labors
WORKING PROCEDURES: Electrician
An electrician is expected to perform the following:
1. Troubleshoot and repair electrician malfunctions on any plant machine or related equipment.
2. Align, adjust and calibrate electrical and equipment
3. Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
4. Replace and repair defective parts, reassemble device and test for proper performance.
5. Install electrical circuits following blueprints and schematic diagrams. Design and install own electrical/electronic circuit diagrams as needed.
6. Inspect and repair circuits and wiring for specified shielding and grounding. Repair and rewired systems according to building codes and safety regulations. Plans and install conduit runs.
7. repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic compacts of electrical and electronic equipment.
8. Use precision measuring and testing devices and equipment.
9. Perform construction and rigging as required.
10. Build, design and repair induction heating and High Frequency (HF) work coils.
11. Monitor and maintain zinc pot temperatures. Prepare for and repair zinc pots as needed.
12. Perform work through the work order systems. Record work performed and materials used.
13. Must be able to work in elevated and difficult positions.
14. Work with little or no supervision. Assist in training as directed.
15. Operate lift trucks and powered lifts as required.
16. Research, design and order all electrical/electronic devices, materials, and components necessary for projects, equipment maintenance, and repair or directed by your supervisor.
17. Keep assigned areas clean.
18. All other task as directed by your supervisor.
