 Description

An Electro-Optical Engineer I will provide technical engineering for electro-optical (EO) sensor and sensor system projects. Technical skills may include an understanding of geometrical optics and optical design, imaging systems, focal plane arrays; spectroscopic systems, fiber optics, illumination systems and sources; lasers; electronic camera systems, computer systems for control and data recording, making radiometric measurements, electronic camera calibration; and optical filtering, polarization, interference, diffraction and Fourier optics theory. Laboratory experience should include work with a wide range of optics and optical instruments such as: spectroscopic instruments, illumination sources, including fiber optic based, using low pressure and high pressure lamps and lasers, electronic cameras and data capture equipment, including calibration for multiple point non-uniformity corrections (FPA cameras), characterizing system photon response, measuring dark noise, measuring system read noise, performing linearity response tests, characterizing system MTF, testing for stray light and performing system or camera level absolute radiometric calibration. Will often work under direct supervision.

Requires a Bachelors degree and 3 or more years of EO technology experience.
