We have an immediate opportunity in our Murrysville, PA territory for:

Electromechanical Purchasing Engineer

Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and implementation of the commodity strategy within the Electromechanical commodity group.
Establish and maintain relationships with prototype and/or production suppliers.
Lead project activities related to product launches or purchasing processes and support new product designs and changes to existing products by providing technical input to both engineers and suppliers relative to component design, material selection, and cost improvement requirements.
Develop sourcing strategies for the selection and qualification of suppliers, quoting of components, and procuring of parts in support of new product commercialization and production.
Effectively interact within the new product development engineering community and the self managed work teams to transition new products into production.
Implement and maintain the open book accounting process within the assigned commodity base and assist with the development and negotiation of contracts/agreements with suppliers to achieve cost targets.
Provide purchasing leadership in support of the supplier continuous improvement team activities within the assigned commodities.

Requirements:
B.S. or equivalent in a mechanical or materials technical field of study. Masters in business or engineering preferred.
Minimum of 5 years experience in an engineering role.
Experience in supplier management and supporting new product development activities is required
Experience in developing and working with inventory management systems, i.e. JIT, MRP, Kanban, desired.
Background in electromechanical assembly processes (e.g. motors, valves, compressors), metal machining and fabrication is preferred.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of manufacturing processes associated with assembly of various electromechanical products, as well as metal machining and forming.
Effective written and oral communication skills, with an ability to communicate technical requirements to suppliers, to ensure that organizational outcomes are realized.
Candidate must be able to travel up to 30% of the time domestically with possible international travel.
