Qualifications:

Must possess excellent project management, interpersonal and communication skills.  

Must also possess a high degree of electronics technical acumen and have the ability to work with suppliers to modify PCB?s and circuits to meet end use performance requirements.

Should have excellent electronics knowledge and be able to define electronics products specifications, be able to develop and define wiring and components requirements, as well as create wiring diagrams and layout drawings in a CAD tool for electronics design.

Should have excellent electronics knowledge with both analog and digital electronics circuits and products.

Should have a good understanding and working knowledge of electronic schematics.

The candidate must be able to quantify and communicate problems with electronics circuitry provided by suppliers.

Should have a broad range of skills sets in the area of electronics testing and be able to specify, purchase and implement new testing equipment as necessary. Experience with the LabView test equipment and software would be a plus.

Experience or familiarity with the following would be desired:  microphones, speakers, PCB coating, AM/FM radio circuits, two-way radios, acoustics/ acoustics testing, PCB board trimming and testing.

Experience with DSP (digital signal processing), speech intelligibility, bone conduction microphones and speakers, ANR (active noise reduction), Bluetooth, magnetic induction, DECT and MP3 technologies would all be a plus.

Any experience with products such as AM/FM radios, MP3 players, two-way communication radios, DECT systems, Bluetooth and other wireless products would also be a plus.

Should be able to do component troubleshooting and rework, troubleshoot and quantify quality problems with circuit boards and be able to interface with electronics components and PCB suppliers to resolve quality problems

This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor?s degree, preferably a Masters degree, in Electrical Engineering and/or Electronics.

This position requires a minimum of four years of project management and electronics product development experience.



The incumbent should have excellent computer literacy, particularly as it relates to electronics design. Must be proficient in word, excel and powerpoint. Familiarity with Microsoft project desired.

 




Responsibilities:



Will lead, manage and organize product development projects.

Will work closely with Marketing and Manufacturing to develop and implement new electronics products. Responsibilities include project management, defining electronic product performance specifications, working with external PCB manufacturers to develop new electronic circuits, developing final electronic specifications and drawings, testing and technical troubleshooting.

Will lead the effort to implement the electronics design of new products to be sold in products markets.

This individual is responsible for merging the electronics design into a workable overall design for the new products. 

In conjunction with the appropriate external engineering resources and manufacturing personnel, will be responsible for the successful implementation of new products into manufacturing facilities.

The incumbent is recognized as a creative electronics engineering expert, consultant, trainer as needed, and partner in addressing electronic design issues.  This individual interfaces with many functions internally and externally and must be aware of the latest technologies as it relates to electronics on a global basis.

Defines electronic product performance specifications, working with external PCB manufacturers/consultants to develop new electronic circuits, developing final electronic specifications and drawings, testing and technical troubleshooting. 



Oversees development of prototypes and demonstrators of new electronics to aid in the determination of viability of the product concept.

Utilizes proprietary technology, whenever feasible, in the design of new products. 

Understands impact of electronic design on potential cost of new products and uses most efficient design allowing for lowest potential costs and ease of manufacture



Interacts with PCB designers and suppliers to generate new electronics.



Manages several electronics design projects in parallel. Responsible for the rapid development of new product designs.



Responsible for assuring that outside suppliers and/or out plants are able to manufacture new product designs that are developed.
