Electronics Reliability Engineer

North American Lighting, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Electronics Reliability Engineer in its Farmington Hills Technical Center.

 

a.  Develops quality and supplier selection strategies and modifies plans.

b.  Manages lighting electronic components reliability activities.

c.  Investigates electronics suppliers? process technology and quality.

d.  Designs, conducts, facilitates, and/or supervises the electronic components functional and reliability tests.

e.  Establishes and manages company?s guidelines regarding electronic component reliability and other quality related matters.

f.  Recommends design changes to production products based upon prototype testing results to meet program timing goals.

g.  Conducts and supervises design validation tests for prototype and production hardware.

h.  Conducts customer interface with respect to specifications and validation results.

i.  Conducts DFMEA, DVP&R, wiring schematics, component selection, and other support as required per customer automotive electrical program requirements.

j.  Writes reports and technical specifications per product designs and hardware testing.

k.  Assists the electronic technology group with general electrical expertise and laboratory support.

l.  Organizes and maintains records for production projects.

m. Recommends laboratory equipment and usage for electronic component reliability testing.

n.  Supports and follows through on investigations related to customer quality complaints for electronics components.

 

o.  Advanced Quality Planning

1. Performs Supplier Quality Systems Surveys

2. Leads component part design review meetings.

3. In conjunction with the NAL Buyer, gathers information and makes decisions relevant to product sourcing.

4. Performs Supplier process reviews

5. Reviews and approves ISIR submissions.

6. Assists Purchasing in coordinating electronics localization activities.

7. Supports NAL Design with VA/VE ideas for purchased electronic components & associated materials.

 

p.  Production/Manufacturing Support

1. Provides technical support for Supplier Quality Coordinators and production personnel.

 

 

2. Contacts suppliers and supplies feedback on quality issues that can not be handled by the SQ Coordinator.

3. Obtains effective countermeasures for all supplier related quality issues.

 

q.  Other Duties

1. Performs problem solving activities that include technical and statistical investigation on NAL production problems, quality problems, and methods and equipment.  Prepares of reports and recommendations based on the investigation.

2. Prepares and audits of procedures, records etc., for NAL's inspection and testing of purchased products.

3. Perform other duties as assigned.
