Job Responsibilities 

Duties will include working within a Product Development Team to develop software for embedded applications.The individual is responsible for software architecture design and implementation including: software system requirements generation derived from customer and marketing inputs, architectural synthesis from requirements, engineering trade-off analysis/simulation, derivation and allocation of requirements into software requirements and specifications, inputs into systems test, review of test results, technical oversight for the development of hardware and software, and requirements management including identification, analysis, resolution of open issues, and requirements tracing. In addition to development, this position requires providing technical leadership to software implementation engineers and participation in validation and test efforts. The candidate will be required to do presentations to management, customers, and colleagues as necessary, including: status of systems tasks, results of tradeoff studies, justification of system design decisions and performance allocations, and dissemination of accumulated knowledge to colleagues.












Functional/Industry Knowledge 
Required:
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience with embedded software development


- Experience developing device drivers


- Experience with multitasking RTOS, including interprocess communications, tasks, semaphores


- Experience using JTAG or other on-chip debugging tools


- Ability to work in a fast paced development team using structured design processes


 


Desired:


- Experience with ARM and ARM peripherals a plus


- Experince with GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS a plus


- Experience with Rational ClearCase a plus

Required Degree: BS
Preferred Degree:MS
Preferred Major: Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
