Embedded Software Diagnostics Engineer

Join the Animatics Engineering team as an Embedded Software Engineer and be a major contributor to the research and development of our next generation of integrated servo motors. Animatics is the worldwide leader in the integrated servo market and holds key patents for this exciting technology. You will have access to the latest tools and technologies to enable you to excel in the area of embedded DSP applications.

Responsibilities: Design and development of embedded software for latest generation DSP?s to provide powerful and unique motion control solutions Provide technical leadership in the areas of algorithm development, C/C++ code optimization using Assembly code, closed loop servo design using PID control Provide advanced mathematical computation for motion control trajectory such as s-curve, torque control, position and cam and gear simulation

A successful candidate will possess: A BS/MS in CS, EE or other science discipline with extensive experience developing real-time firmware/embedded software The ability to use development environments for embedded systems, cross-compilation, debug tools, ICE, JTAG, etc. C/C++ programming experience An understanding of devices and closed loop control systems

Experience and skills to differentiate you from other candidates: Motion control experience with trajectory generation/calculation Servo control using PID control for real-time feedback and corrections to acceleration, velocity, and position Familiarity with DSP?s and peripheral device connection including EEPROM, SRAM, FPGA, CPLD and Power Electronics/Magnetics Motor power control and drive systems Experience with hardware bring-up and firmware flash loading Mechanical/Machine design and automation control Field-bus experience such as DeviceNet, Profibus, Ethernet, etc. Serial data communication protocols including RS232, RS485 and I2C Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, small company environment
