Engine Lead System Engineer

CITY: Erie STATE: Pennsylvania COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Job Purpose Lead systems engineer for engine NPI programs
Essential Functions:
* Lead engine development engineering teams on new product development programs.
* Responsible for engine system design specifications and interface control documents.
* Responsible for engine systems design, including schematics, reliability, cost, weight, system modeling, documentation, design reviews, and systems level FMEA's.
* Responsible for emissions, fuel consumption, and performance development
* Utilize Six Sigma methodology
* Responsible for overall engine program schedule(s)
* Responsible for engine program budget(s)

Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
* BS Mechanical Engineering
* Minimum of three years of diesel engine design or performance development experience
Eligibility Requirements:

* You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
* If currently a GE employee, you must have been in your current position for at least 12 months and have at least a satisfactory performance rating
* You must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time
* You must be able to travel internationally

* Understanding of engine systems
* Understanding of engine applications
* Understanding of engine support sytems including cooling and lubrication systems
* Greenbelt or Blackbelt Certification
* Masters or advanced degree a plus
* Experience with solid modeling in Unigraphics or similar CAE application * Experience with finite element analysis
* Experience with Gamma Technologies engine modelling software
* Experience with Fluent CFD software
* Experience with engine testing and data acquisition
