Engineer, Connector Products

Continental Connector Company is an established, successful company that manufactures and sells connector products to the military and commercial markets.  Continental is a member of the ASC Group of companies which has numerous locations in the USA and abroad. We are finalizing the relocation of certain operations to Hatfield, PA from Bloomfield, NJ and we are looking for a local candidate to join our team as an engineer in our Hatfield office. Responsibilities of the Engineer include:

 Assisting sales and customers in engineering related matters including questions, data requests, inquiries regarding product modifications, etc. to jointly determine customer needs and solutions.Managing the annual planning, testing and reporting requirements to the government agency DSCC for our approved productsPerforming annual testing of finished products to maintain military product acceptanceMaking technical decisions about part modifications and substitutionsProducing and maintaining product documentations including procedures, bill of materials and engineering drawings.Supporting QC in material review decision makingEvaluating and approving or rejecting new sources of supplyProviding support to the assembly and molding departments to ensure product is fabricated and assembled to specifications.

 

The successful candidate will have good oral and written communication skills with the ability to interpret and relate technical information to others.  The individual will be able to assume a lead role and direct other personnel.  He/she will have an understanding of basic mechanical mechanisms, MRP computer systems, Manufacturing Shop floor workflows and the ability to work hands on with equipment.  In addition, the successful candidate should have a working knowledge of AutoCad and have a basic understanding of electrical circuits.  He or she will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering (or an Electrical Engineering with strong machine skills) and 2-4 years work experience.
