Description of Work:
Primary Purpose of Position: Work with the Project Office as the Abrams Obsolescence Integrated Subsystem Lead serving as the primary technical and management lead for coordinating and directing obsolescence redesign, rework, integration, and test activities on the M1A1 AIM and M1A2 Abrams platforms.
1. Provide leadership and technical coordination for the Abrams Obsolescence Integrated Product Team (IPT) having Vetronics subsystem LRU, SRU, Software engineering development, Hardware and Subsystems Integration, and vehicle Integration & Test.
2. Specific tasks include coordination, integration, and development of subsystem LRU and SRU requirements, designs, interfaces and test, along with coordination of hardware & software deliverables resulting from obsolescence efforts on Abrams platforms following System and Subsystem Engineering processes and by working across GDLS organizations. Coordinate development of Subsystem Integration Lab (SIL) LRU and SRU integration test plans and support Prototype Integration, Verification, Operation & Test (PIVOT). Develop subsystem integration schedules and risk mitigation. Tasks also include setting up, coordinating, and interfacing with the IPT.
3. Provide leadership and coordination of design and integration teams and interface with multiple internal and external organizations to achieve project objectives in an aggressive proactive manner.
4. Monitor and track project activity and integrate Vetronics and Software tasks and assets for successful results. Provide Earned Value Management System (EVMS) variance analysis and late start/finish explanation.
5. Demonstrate problem solving skills to investigate and expedite corrections.
6. Prepare development plans to assist IPT management in execution of work. Primary obsolescence tasking will come from the Obsolescence Program Project Manager.
7. Manage and report on project tasks and activities to meet deadlines. Prepare status reports and project briefings as needed for functional, IPT Management, and Project Office management. Provide status at IPT/PCT meetings. Prepare meeting minutes and track action items. Assist with and/or prepare Technical Management Team (TMT) status briefings.
8. Familiarity with military combat systems, communications systems, Integrated Computer systems, software and Platform Electronics Subsystems, Power Distribution & Management, and the material acquisition system is desirable.
9. Detailed knowledge of hardware LRU and SRU design and development is required.
10. Experience on development programs requiring oversight of the integration of major subsystems is desirable.

Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Electronics Engineering, or Electronics Engineering Technology required. Other technical degrees will be considered with related experience.
2. Strong leadership, technical experience, verbal, and written communication skills required. Computer literate - Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, File).
3. Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, hardware development, and integration and test.
4. Experience with and knowledge of all functional organizations.
5. Strong initiative and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with challenging deadlines and to execute broad direction from managers.
6. Experience with program-level Government interaction over contract negotiations, work scope negotiations, resource allocation, contract language & deliverables.
7. Experience with an Earned Value Measurement System (EVMS), scheduling software, and writing and tracking Material Requisitions. Must have and practice excellent record keeping skills.
8. Experience with military contracts preferred.
9. Must be able to obtain Security Clearance.
10. Travel - Occasionally out of town (approximately 10%).
