The VAIO of America Engineering team is seeking a hardware engineer with an active interest in new technologies and concepts to design and develop new products. This position puts a strong emphasis on product design and development.

 

This position will require an individual with creativity who can suggest new product ideas and develop on those ideas if approved as well as maintain records for potential patent ideas. Experience in all aspects of product design projects, including design conception through final manufacturing of the product, formulating product design specifications and updating those specifications is preferred. Hands-on approach is needed. Some projects will be specific, but most will require the need for research and independent investigation.

The individual will need to embrace and encourage the development of the technical and professional competencies of the Engineering Team members and stimulate an entrepreneurial development spirit.



BSEE and 3+ years of experience are required. MSEE required for candidates with less than 2 years of experience.


 


Must have in depth knowledge in one or more of the following fields: DSP (filters, FFT etc.), Image / Video Processing, Digital communication and networking, Algorithm development, Computer Architecture and Design, Signal processing, Video compression, and H.264.


 


Experience with ARM/RISC/x86/Embedded architecture. At least one complete development cycle from Concept to prototype (including Architecture, Specifications, Board Design, Bring up and Documentation) is preferred.
