Engineer I, II or Senior (Linux SW Engineer)

Job Responsibilities:
-Design, develop, and maintain software for real-time embedded satellite TV set-top box (STB) receivers utilizing Linux.

-Decompose tasks, define milestones, create schedules and estimate development resources for projects.

-Work within a development team using change control and source code management systems.

-Work with test engineering and test validation groups to create test plans and procedures.


Job Qualifications:


ENGINEER I: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other engineering discipline; or at least 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Over 2 years experience in development of real-time software with C programming language.

 

ENGINEER II: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other engineering discipline plus two years of related experience; or at least 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

SENIOR ENGINEER: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other engineering discipline plus at least three years of related experience; or at least six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

ENGINEER I, II, SENIOR: 1-10 years experience in design and development of real-time software with C/C++. X-Windows programming, writing shared library functions, and multi-threaded programming experience a plus. Development experience using Linux or UNIX required. Must be a quick learner with good deductive reasoning skills and ability to work in a team environment.
