Engineer II - Electro-Optics (03928)

ITT Space Systems Division (SSD), Ft. Wayne, Indiana

Support growth in electro-optics product development activities. Plans and performs research, design development and manufacturing engineering assignments on complex electronic, electromechanical and mechanical systems. May be assigned the engineering responsibility for a project or part of a project depending upon size, scope and complexity.

Equivalent Education Level Required: BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics, or related scientific fields.

Experience Required: Two years design and development experience in the electronics field. At least one year of undergraduate/graduate training in semiconductors and semiconductor physics is required. Lab experience and an aptitude for using analytical tools such as MS Excel and/or Mathcad, along with computer programming capability is required. Experience with Labview and/or C++/Visual Basic/Delphi programming desired.

Knowledge required: Comprehensive knowledge of equipment design and development, engineering methods and procedures. Ability to use basic electronic test equipment required. More specialized computer interface equipment knowledge is highly desirable. Capability related to automated operation of test equipment or data analysis required. Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving highly desirable.
