Engineer II -- Electronics Development/Design

Position Summary/Purpose:

Design, modification and verification of electronic solutions for instrumentation and machine control applications. Typical applications include mixtures of digital and analog circuits, and micro-controller components.

Major Responsibilities:

? Design, modification and verification of electronic product applications, including the control circuitry for the MKS/HPS valve product line, power supply, signal processing and electrometer design.

? Analyze requirements to establish operating data, test methods and conducts validation tests for the completed project or task.

? Apply knowledge of semiconductor process to support MKS process solutions and related products.

? Visit customers and field sales organizations to provide technical support and training on MKS, HPS products.

? Generate new product ideas based on the customer?s needs and feedbacks.

? Documentation of design including concept review, design review, and production documentation.

? Collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.

Skill Requirements:

Electrical hardware design skills including experiences with discrete analog circuitry and operational amplifier.

Strong problem solving skills: identify the problem, develop the solution and design the products to resolve the problem.

Software development skills with a solid knowledge of C and LabView.

Strong mathematical and modeling skills are required for sensor design and development

Must be able to perform root cause analysis of electrical circuits to resolve problems.

Strong presentation skills and willingness to travel to customer sites around the world.

Energetic, self-starter who can drive projects to completion.

Excellent written and verbal skills required for working with customers, vendors and HPS employees.

Preferred Qualifications:

? BS degree in Electrical Engineering.

? 1 to 5 years of experience in mixed signal circuit design including switching power supplies, low level analog and micro-controllers

? Knowledge of C programming in real time control applications and experience with microprocessors a plus.

? Knowledge of LabView programming

? Knowledge of board layout and fabrication practices, familiarity with documentation control procedures, engineering change processes, and management of design changes, prototype assembly and testing.

? Familiarity with microprocessor programming a plus.

? DSP, digital, and logic hardware design.

? Basic knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering is helpful.

? ROHS experience.
