Engineer-In-Training (EIT)

Global Signal Services LLC (Global), one of the country's largest telecommunication tower companies and located in sunny Sarasota, Florida, has an immediate need for two Engineers-In-Training.  This position reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for assisting with the data input into engineering structural design programs and performs initial engineering analyses prior to the Engineer's review.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Review each collocation application to determine if analysis is required on the structure.Review all site information to determine necessity of contracting field work.Review initial steel data for completeness, i.e., steel thickness and sizes, guy wires, guy anchors, feedlines, antennas, etc.Review and verify steel data information for accuracy compared to tower maps produced from internal data base system.Input steel data, feedlines, material types, antennas and all pertinent information in DAT file format for entry into structural analysis program.Complete initial tower run in structural analysis program (future).Review and analyze results of structural analysis program (future).Complete structural analysis report or structural assessment report for review by Senior Structural Engineer (future).Perform engineering review of all documents received from a tower owner.

 

Qualifications:

 Four year degree in Mathmatetics, Physics or Engineering is required. Requires completed certificate for Engineer in Training.2-5 years work experience.Knowledge required of structural steel design and foundation design, ability to understand and manipulate structural analyses software.Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Ability to manage multiple small scaler projects simultaneously is essential. Must be self-directed, self-motivated, possess the ability to make job related judgements and work in a fast-paced, team environment.
