The Department of Environmental Protection is working to implement numerous requirements of the federal Clean Air Act and associated regulations.  To support this effort, the DEP seeks entry-level engineers to fill positions in the air pollution control program area.  The positions provide an opportunity to learn the air pollution control programs and be part of a team dedicated to environmental protection.  Duties will include: developing knowledge and skills in air pollution control; assisting with engineering calculations; performing emission rate verifications, assisting with the review of applications and preparing evaluations for New Source Review and Title V permits for sources of air pollution to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations; updating permit support and tracking program databases; assisting in preparing detailed technical engineering reports; communicating with representatives of air pollution sources and the public on matters related to permitting.  Candidates may be required to travel both in and out of state and to attend courses to enhance knowledge of air pollution control.
