? Plans and organizes project staff according to project requirements.
? Delegates to project personnel specific tasks of projects including, but not limited to, technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
? Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, government regulations, and customer contract requirements.
? Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
? Creates work processes and improves existing work processes.
? Leads all engineering aspects of a project including, but not limited to, QFD, DFMEA, design reviews, CAD, CAE, product validation, and problem solving.
? Leads a multifunctional team to achieve cost, quality, and timing objectives for a single project.
? Presents project status including key issues and recommendations to the senior management group.
? Proficient in the planning and direction of all technical aspects of engineering projects, regardless of complexity.
? Strong leadership skills.
? Ability to coach and mentor junior engineers.
? Ability to delgate work.
? Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
? Ability to write presentations and articles for publication.
? Ability to effectively present information to a variety of internal and external groups.
? Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal and external customers.
? High degree of mechanical aptitude.
? Proficiency in CAD, Unigraphics capability preferred.
? Proficiency in MS Office suite.
? Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
? Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in various communication forms.
? BS in Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited four-year college or university.
? Five to eight years of mechanical design engineering experience, including demonstrated engineering project leadership experience.
