Engineer, Quality Senior

Job Responsibilities:
Applies broad knowledge of total quality concepts to define and implement activities in assigned areas such as designing and installing quality control process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques. Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment. Analyzes production limitations and standards. Recommends revision of specifications when indicated. Assists in formulating quality control policies and procedures. Position involves being the project lead and coach/mentor for team members on improvement initiatives and determining process inputs and outputs. Other duties include identifying and managing development of routing gages and measuring equipment, performing capability analysis to determine the ability to meet quality/customer needs, and developing quality control test plans based on engineering, regulatory and statutory requirements. The position also requires developing and implementing effective quality and audit plans and procedures. The position involves coaching others in assessing process capability levels, sigma levels and yield percentages, leading corrective action teams in the analysis, writing and implementation of corrective plans and developing and completing training for auditors. This position requires the ability to utilize process improvement methodology, filter through streams of data and information to make fact based decisions and identify and define sources of variations in processes. The successful incumbent must have excellent communication skills, Green Belt level of Six Sigma knowledge and be a certified auditor with experience in auditing various types of processes. Bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of experience is required. Must be open to future relocation within 2-3 years outside of Lexington, Kentucky.
