Perform analysis (FMECA, Derating/Stress, Reliability Prediction, Critical Items List, Limited Life Items, Safety) and evaluations to verify and to improve the reliability of L-3 products.  Experience in Radiation Effects for Space environment to aid in the selection of parts based on radiation program.  Analyze use of product and calculates the cumulative effect upon the reliability of the complete system produced by the individual reliability built into components and sub-assemblies.  Provide guidance to Electrical Design Engineers in the development of more reliable products.

 

Determines the most effective selection, application, and parts screening for various high reliability part programs.  Generates plans, procedures, EEE part procurement and screening documents (SCD?s, SoCD;s, SID?s, and AID?s) for military and aerospace programs as required by Company standard and/or contract.  Monitors ongoing programs as required; resolves EEE component procurement and screening problems in a timely fashion.  Reviews screening and test data received from manufacturers and test laboratories for compliance to specification and purchase order.  Evaluate defective components and failure analysis reports as required.  Interface internally with Electrical Design Engineers, Components Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Quality Engineers.

 

Required:  BS degree or equivalent work related experience.  Five years experience in a high reliability military or aerospace electronics environment.  Relevant Reliability and Components (Parts) Engineering background.  Computer literate with working knowledge of Word and Excel is mandatory.  Ability to communicate effectively and to effectively multiplex various tasks and projects is required.  This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
