Position Description:

Broadcom provides wireless LAN solutions for routers (home & enterprise), broadband gateways, clients (PC/laptops), and embedded devices, such as cell phones and printers.

The Software Applications Engineer will be responsible for helping customers design-in Broadcom wireless LAN solutions by supporting their SW integration efforts. Products include routers, broadband gateways and other infrastructure devices as well as wireless LAN clients.

Tasks include working on customer problems on different host platforms (X86, Xscale, ARM, MIPS etc), different OSes (Linux, VxWorks, Windows) and different compiler tools on infrastructure devices. Need to be familiar with network sniffers(Ixia, smartbits, ethereal etc), network protocols, host and device stacks. Familiarity with different bus architectures PCI, USB is desirable. Familiarity with SoftICE/Windbg and Windows drivers is desirable.

Qualifications:

? 3 years experience developing software for embedded applications.
? 3 years experience with either Ethernet or 802.11 networking devices, drivers, software
? 2 years Experience with Windows networking setup, debugging, problem replication
? BSEE/CS (or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
