Position Description:

This profile requires an individual playing multiple roles. Part of the job will involve expanding and maintaining the satellite/cable headend infrastructure (headend management), rest of the job will be related to test and verification activities.

The individual should have familiarity with RF networks, MPEG streamers, modulators, up-converters and combiners, amplifiers and signal integrity issues related to an RF distribution. The test and verification activities would center around conceiving, designing and implementation of test plan and procedures for system level qualification of a highly integrated system on a chip based settop box. Exposure to Linux and/or VxWorks is desirable.

The prospective candidate will be required to create and assist in generation of a system level test plan and implement scripts and application infrastructure to support test procedures. Test reports will be generated for phased releases. Candidate needs to interface with engineer in other Broadcom sites even outside United States.

Exposure to software development methodology - a knack for software testing, a good team person with excellent oral and written communication skills desirable. Exposure to MPEG, AVC standards is desirable. Experience with C/C++ language and scripting tools and languages is a strong plus. Exposure to Issue Tracking and Version control tools desired. Exposure to Clearcase is a strong plus. Test and verification long-term commitment is desired.


Qualifications:

BS + 4 yrs or MS + 2 yrs experience in cable, satellite headends, digital video, MPEG and settop boxes.
