Engineer Sr., Applied Systems Engineering

Description:
oResponsible for the technical success of projects typically with a combined value of $1 million or greater.
oResponsible to support the Project Management Office (PMO) to meet project schedule, budgeted hours, and customer satisfaction targets.
oBuilds partnerships at technical level of key customers.
oMay conceptualize the technical solution and provide engineering hours estimates for sales proposals.
oMay present technical aspect of sales proposals to customers.
oResponsible for following all applicable corporate, company, governmental and regulatory policies and procedures as appropriate for this position.

Qualifications:
oBS in Electrical/Electronics Engineering discipline or equivalent knowledge; further education in engineering, computer science or project management is a plus.

oTypically seven or more years experience in a systems, software, process automation or application engineering capacity including successful field startup experience.

oExperience with direct customer contact on a technical basis is required.

oExpereince with PLCs, HMI, industrial networks, progamming software, drives, motors required.

oExperience with panel design, schematics, electrial installation, drawings/documentation, instrumentation, check-out, loop tuning, system commissioning, and start-up required.
oExperience with databases (SQL), networks, and servers is a definite plus.


oMay participate in development of team strategic plan.

oTechnically leads the design, implementation, test and startup phases of complex systems projects.

oMay identify technologies to be used in standard offerings, new applications and extensions of current architectures or software packages.

oSupports the project manager on plan and schedule project activities.

oMay participate in detailed system implementations.

oMust be able to work in a fun and sometimes stressful environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged.

oMust be available and willing to work the extra hours to meet customer project commitments.

oMust perform duties in the office and in the field as part of a project team.

oMust be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial plants, ships, etc., which may require working in industrial work environments.

oFrequently leads requirements definition, system conceptualization and design efforts for complex system projects.

oLeads contractors on project assignments.

oCoaches and helps develop less-experienced engineers assigned to projects.

oLeverages and shares specialized application knowledge or specialized technology knowledge within assigned business team.

oMay lead internal engineering improvement efforts.
