Description:
. Engineering and implementation of switch translations in Nortel MTX and Lucent ECP
. Project Support for Network Backhauls, Switch Re-Homes / Moves, New Switch Commissioning, Database reconfiguration / optimization, New Network Elements, National Project Lead / FOA Market Lead
. Periodic updates to database tables as part of ongoing operation and maintenance
. Involvement in new product implementation, trial and roll-out for new features and equipment
. Cooperation with other departments as required
. Ongoing trouble ticket review, analysis and remedy of service- or revenue-impacting network issues
. Update and develop written documentation of all work performed and development of MOPs where required
. 24*7 on-call, flexibility for night- and weekend-work, travel at-site as needed
. Reports to Manager Translations

Qualifications:
. 3 years of professional experience in the mobile communications industry
. 2 years hands-on experience in switch translations pertaining to routing, trunking, code opening, subscriber/HLR maintenance, feature implementation, SS7 TACP/ISUP, (E)911 and adjunct inter-working and routing.
. Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
. Hands-on translations training and experience with Nortel MTX equipment
. Strong technical skills and self-starter personality, team oriented attitude and good interpersonal communication skills
. Switching knowledge including matrix, front end, trunking, and digital cross connects.
