Description of Work:
1. Design, develop, integrate, and maintain automated and descrete test equipment, fixtures, gauges, and production test & verification equipment.

2. Design electronic test interface circuits, including switching, translation, analog and digital circuits. Implement grounding and shielding principles to minimize test system and interface effects on test samples.

3. Develop necessary documentation to accepted engineering standards.

4. Direct technician and/or bargaining unit personnel in the fabrication (build) and modification of test interface hardware.

5. Write test parameter procedures and design software using software design tools and methodologies for automated test systems.

6. Integrate automated test programs, including marriage of automated stimulation/response system with electronic interface and test sample. Resolve all anomalies between them.

7. Prepare engineering development plans (flow of work, scheduling, tracking, and pert chart preparation) to assist management in execution of work directives and project supporting tasks.

8. Develop Special Test Equipment and embedded systems units to identify and resolve Fire Control System anomalies.

9. Prepare status reports to management and support hardware design and software code reviews within and outside of department.

10. Demonstrate problem solving skills to expedite completion of all test programming tasks.

11. Manitain automated & special test Quality Inspection equipment at production sites, as needed, by performing calibration, modifications, and repairs in a timely maner to avoid impact to production schedules.

12. Evaluate fielded QAIE equipment to identify obsolete equipment and systems, and develop upgrades as needed.


Job Requirements:
-Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology. Other technical degrees will be considered with related experience.
1. Experience with military contracts preferred.
2. Must be computer literate - PC (Excel, Word, Internet Explorer)
3. Experience debugging electronic subsystems at board level, with little or no documentation. Capability to reverse engineer electronic systems to develop schematics.
4. Exposure to and basic knowledge of Digital Storage Oscilloscopes, DAQ Cards, Remote switching, Synchro Resolver Simulators, and standard laboratory instrumentation. Experience using 1553 bus, RS-485, RS-422, RS-232 helpful.
5. Experience testing Abrams or Stryker electronics & sighting subsystems is preferred.
6. Travel out of town. Maximum 1-2 weeks per month.
7. Overtime - Intermittent overtime. 2-16 hours per week.
8. 40% office environment; 60% laboratory and on-site support
9. Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
