Engineering Manager

 

Growing Philadelphia, PA area manufacturer of melamine office furniture and closet organizing systems has an immediate opening for a mature, reliable person to head our engineering department. The successful candidate will have experience with panel processing, office furniture design and manufacture, N/C woodworking machinery and/or similar experience in the cabinet/woodworking industry. A suitable candidate will also posses strong computer skills including experience with AutoCAD (3D, templates, plotting & rendering) and Excel (formulas & look-up tables). Experience with Microvellum or Crystal Reports would be a plus. General tasks include but are not limited to:

1.  Supervision of all functions of the engineering office

2.  Supervision of bills of material and cut sheets

3.  Interact with sales and support staff regarding order details

4.  Interact with dealers regarding order details

5.  Product engineering

6.  Specification of materials for unique projects

7.  Oversee engineering staff to ensure that production schedules are met and that the quality of the work is acceptable

8.  Ensure timely communication of technical data to sales personnel

9.  Supervise data entry

10.  Work with management to create cost/price data

11.  Supervise the activity of the IT department

2.  Maintain current technical data for sales offices re products designs and materials

3.  Smooth interface between manufacturing and engineering
